D.O.P.E. Doula

Ashley is a DONA International trained birth and postpartum doula. She is also a certified lactation consultant. She's all inclusive but specialize in BIPOC birth parents. She is married with three boys. Ashley became passionate about doula work when a friend lost her life to postpartum complications. Studies have shown that doula's help to improve birth outcomes, and if she can help save one birth parents life or help them create the birth experience of their dreams; She's all in.

As a passionate maternal health advocate, Ashley focused on eliminating health disparities and the disproportionate African American and Latina infant and maternal mortality rates. She is a maternal health advocate that is involved in helping to push medicaid and private insurance coverage for doula services. In recent years, many state medicaid programs have recognized the importance of doula service and have approved coverage at generous rates. As a birth worker she will continue to work to push the focus on coverage for all birth parents to have coverage for doula services.  She has been in practice a little over a year, but has spent the last several years researching and observing doulas.
